Performance
The new Jeep Grand Cherokee has either a standard V6 with 293 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque or a V8 with 390 pound-feet of torque and 357 horsepower. You can also check out the plug-in hybrid option that offers an electric driving range of 24 miles. Those who want to save on fuel should stick with the base V6, recording an EPA-estimated 26 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city. The optional V8 drops the ratings to 22 mpg on the highway and 14 mpg in the city.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee has agile handling. It delivers on rough terrains, especially with the Trailhawk trim that brings a terrain management system, a limited-slip differential, and an air suspension. The new Grand Cherokee can pull up to 7,600 pounds around Toledo when properly equipped.
Technology
Whether you choose the standard 8.4-inch or the optional 10-inch touchscreen, you will still get similar features and functions. The two touchscreens come standard with Apple CarPlay, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and Bluetooth connectivity. Buyers who wish to enjoy the navigation system, HD radio, an upgraded stereo system, and satellite radio will need to consider the 10-inch touchscreen. Also, the infotainment touchscreens act as feedback centers for some safety features, such as a surround-view parking camera system and a rearview camera. You can add more tech features: a 10-inch digital gauge cluster, a 10-inch passenger-side touchscreen, wireless device charging, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a rear seat entertainment system.
Interior and Exterior
The seating capacity of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is five. Each row has ample legroom and headroom for cruising around Napoleon. Cloth upholstery and power adjustments are standard in the company of an illuminated locking glove box, leatherette door trim insert, a full cloth headliner, and many more. Convenient features include heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, Nappa leather upholstery, and massaging functions offered in the upper trims.
The exterior styling is top-notch, with the Jeep SUV still maintaining the seven-slot front grille sided by slim LED headlights and daytime running lights. The taillights at the rear fascia work well with the Jeep Grand Cherokee's square body and arrive accompanied by a dual exhaust and power tailgate. Wheel sizes vary from 17-inch to 20-inch wheels finished in an alloy.
